About us
Preparation, prevention and spill response
Uruguayan company specialized in preparation, prevention and emergency response to spills. We support ports, terminals, shipping lines, shipowners and maritime agencies, industries and public bodies in environmental risk management.
Origin and trajectory
Dangerol was created with a clear objective: to provide Uruguay with an oil spill response and prevention capability that meets international standards, grounded in naval experience and deep knowledge of the country's maritime, river, lake and coastal environment.
We are the only Uruguayan company authorized by the National Naval Prefecture in all three OSRO categories (A, B and C) —the highest granted—, with response centers across the country and 24-hour availability. We are also authorized by ANP and MTOP to respond in all ports and bodies of water in the country.
Since late 2022, 90% of the response to oil spills in Uruguay has been provided by the Dangerol team. That figure sums up the way we work: a real structure, ready to respond at the place and time it is needed.

Operational capability
In-house equipment, twelve trailer-mounted vessels and two command-and-control units to set up an operations center on site.

Leadership team
The operation is led by five people with a track record that has no equivalent in the country: naval and technical training, and direct action in Uruguay's most significant incidents.
Lic. Horacio Germán
CEO · Director specialized in Marine Pollution
Graduate in Naval Systems and Marine Pollution Surveyor. Corvette captain (Ret.) of the National Navy. Former Head of the Pollution Response Division of the National Naval Prefecture (2002–2006). IMO Level 3 in spill management, the highest that exists. Has led Dangerol since 2017.
Diego Sarli
Head of Operations
Naval Surveyor and expert in salvage and maritime emergencies. Three decades as a specialized diver in the National Navy, where he commanded the Navy Diving and Salvage Group. Founding partner of Dangerol (2017) and operational lead for the entire company in Uruguay.
Alfredo Arijón
Head of Logistics
Diving and Salvage Surveyor, with three decades in the National Navy. Commanded the salvage vessel ROU 27 “Banco Ortiz” and the minesweeper ROU 31 “Temerario”. Serves as surveyor in the country's most significant spills.
Ing. Gustavo Germán
Head of Maintenance and Operational Continuity
Engineer in Machinery and Electricity (Naval School) and naval machinery surveyor. Former Hull and Machinery Inspector (COTEC) and Head of the Navy Technical Department. Welding inspector authorized by the Navy.
Juan Montero
Head of Operations, Western Zone
Navy Captain (Ret.). Led the Río de la Plata District of the National Naval Prefecture (2017–2020) and served as Director of Environmental Protection of the PNN (2015–2017). Leads pollution control in the western zone of the country.
